(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family has had chickens so I am familiar with them, but this is my first flock of my own at my home. I have a good sized home built coop and run for them. They are admittedly very spoiled birds already. I saved them from an owner who ended up with far more than they thought. We are itp Atlanta so we cant have Roos. With our piece of land we can have a max 8 birds.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 7 Chickens. We had 8, Two of them started crowing so went to live with my brother, having more land and more birds, he keeps roos and will hopefully have some chicks from them because they are BEAUTIFUL. I brought one of his young birds back that wasn't thriving in his large environment. She is doing better with me where she can get one on one attention and observation. I am having trouble integrating her with the other 6.
(3) What breeds do you have? Bantams. 3 of them are Silkies
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Reading blog posts to similar questions I had.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Hiking, Art, Anything on water, My dogs.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have three dogs, all mix breed saves. The big one admittedly wants to eat the chickens. She doesn't get to go near the coop. I work in Marketing and Event planning. My Fiance is awesome and built my dream coop out of the sketch drawings I provided to him. He loves the birds and helps me with them, but doesn't really want to touch them.
