I am telling you when Jesse said they were heavy feeders he wasn't kidding.
It great though, they get big fast and are very playful little things.
The rooster start dancing around eachother acting like they are going to fight when they just these little itty bitty things, they think they are so tough.
The roosters combs get big early. You will know your pullets from your roosters in a couple of weeks from hatch.
Have fun.

To anyone looking for black copper Marans, I have a young pair available in SE Michigan. These are from a very experienced breeder (I hatched his eggs) who is working with good lines. Both birds are feather-legged and are extremely strong growing and calm birds.
I have decided to concentrate on light brahmas so am making the pair available (they are 1 month old). I will consider any offers, even trades for light brahmas, blr Wyandottes, gold-laced Polish, and Silkies. I would just like to get them to someone interested in the breed.
I would prefer not to ship the birds.

I have a trio I can sell. The rooster is very correct to the breed standard. Here a photo of that exact roo hatching from a dark egg.

The egg is a little darker than it looked in the photo, the lighbulb kind of washed it out and made it look orange/yellow. it was brown. Here is the actual clutch that all three hatched from. They are from bayhorsebonne on ebay. The pullets are laying, but I want darker eggs. I would take $150 for the trio, plus any other cost incurred to get them to the buyer. Anyhow, here is the eggs they hatched from. The roo hatched from the middle egg on the bottom, the two hens lay like the lighter color pipped egg.
