My one week old Bourbon Red Turkey poult lost its hatch mate tonight, sadly enough. I have no safe friend for it, so I would very much like to purchase like companion poults, if anyone is willing to ship some young 'uns to New York. Express Mail would be fine.

Please let me know, PM or email, whatever you prefer, details. Thanks for considering.

I have Bronze (cross?) and Narragansett poults that I can ship. Bronzes are about a month old and Naris are a week old. Min of 6 of the younger ones and 4 of the older ones to assure they stay warm. You can email me at [email protected] I have Bourbon Reds hatching this weekend but I probably won't have extras. :-(

Val:

I know that I am begging and being "picky" at the same time, but I am HOPING to find turkeys that are on my list of "wanted types". But, I have never considered the Naris. I had two bronzes and I wasn't too fond of them....I'd like to see if there is any chance for me to get more bourbon reds since we can't really ship until Monday anyway and I'll do some reading about the Naris.

Wish I knew more about turkeys! LOL. I can't believe how fast this baby is getting feathers. I appreciate your offer and will let you know. How much are the poults?

I understand! I will let you know if I have enough Bourbon Reds hatch that I have any extras. The Naris and Reds are $10 the Bronze (since they were bought eggs and maybe not pure) are $7.50 (the eggs were marked Royal Palm :))

From what I've read about the Naris, they sound wonderful. I had hoped to raise the Bourbon Reds since we don't have many turkeys in the area. Mixes won't go over very well here and since I have very limited space, I have to plan every move. The little poult is in with a smaller number of ducklings, but he stands on top of the feeder, so he is not using them for companionship and is probably not enjoying their manners very much. I call him a "he" but have no idea how to sex poults!!

My husband is saying, "why don't WE get rid of our turkey instead of bringing in more"....isn't that typical?
