WTB: Nice Breed Newborn Rooster

I agree. I kept my most spoiled, friendliest cockerels and they turned out to be the meanest. The one I ignored because I planned on butchering him has turned out to be a perfect gentleman.

That is what I was saying, you won;t know for sure until they are older.

We raise our roos on the feed and move around them, not spoil them plan. We currently have 3 RIR boys 2.5 years all can be picked up if we need to check them over, deworm. Otherwise they go about their business and dont bother anyone. We also have 2 new EE boys from this springs hatch. Everyone free ranges together from 2 months of age and up. They also have geese, ducks (large) and call ducks out around them.

The only roo we ver had a problem with is a RIR who was low on the pecking order so we would feed him separately. He turned pretty ballsy to say the least after the special treatment.

good luck with your search.

Agreed. Also, if you make 'pets' out of male chicks they tend to be more aggressive because they do not fear you.

My male bantam EE are coddled sweethearts and have never gone mean. They hatch sweet and stay sweet!

Fattie might have some roos, she's a member here. Don't know how close...
