She has done this twice this week...layed down, flailed one leg like having a seizure then the other. The others gather round her and even climb on her. Then she rests for a few and repeats. Gets the others all riled up when she does. Otherwise she is generally one of my take-no-crap birds thus far. Being new to this, I scooped her up and checked her out thoroughly to make sure I wasn't missing something and she is fine. Now preening like a crazy girl lol. Just making sure this is normal behavior at this age

How old is she? I’ve seen chicks as young as 2 weeks dust bathe in the bedding of their brooder; the bantams seem to have more instinct than the others in my experience but it spreads like wildfire once they figure out what’s going on! My broody hen started teaching her babies how to dust bathe in real dust at 3-4 days old, so I’m sure it’s normal!

Thank you for the quick responses. I just searched it and found a couple of threads that have videos identical to what she was doing. I feel so much better. She got going so good that she poked one of her own feet with the other foot! Lmao. One tiny red spot wiped right off and her feathers cover it anyhow so no one saw it. But now I am just that more in love with these silly creatures. There is never a dull day!

ROFL that's no joke! The pen is a bathing frenzy right now! Two of my reds that were climbing on her are now testing the bathing out! One actually seems to very much enjoyed all of the others cleaning her off! OMG this is way more entertaining than it should be!‍♀️
