I've ordered chicks from them for many years with no problem. I've ordered from McMurray and Cackle too. I've been getting chicks for ten years and I've never seen such a sh*t show as this last order was.

They never sent a receipt to my email.
They had no information about my order online. I can't look it up. It doesn't exist.
They didn't send a text letting me know the chicks were sent which has always been done in the past. No way to track the shipment. No idea chicks were on their way.
The PO called my home number which is my THIRD contact number. Luckily we have a landline upstairs or I would have no idea the chicks were at the PO.

When I got the chicks, one of them was under the pad and one of them was in a little compartment on the side, almost dead. I thought it was dead because it was cold and stretched out but it opened its beak. It was hypoglycemic and hypothermic; it took 20 minutes to bring it back. If I didn't check the whole box it would have been easily missed until I smelled it. There's no way the chick could have gotten in there on its own.

Here's Meyer Hatchery's phone number, maybe if you give them a call they can answer some of your questions (419) 945-2651

A chick being under the heat pad...who knows how that happened, rough handling/box being turned over in shipping possibly?

I've never had any issues with them either, but sometimes accidents may happen. Call them and let them know.

Glad you were able to bring the chick around.

Does the term “going postal” still apply. ??
Hopefully not to baby chicks

I am sorry that things were out of the normal way they should happen.

The post office not calling the first number is definitely not Meyers doing. My local post office called the second number only and that was 2 hours after I had already picked my duckies up. That was back on April. I cannot imagine things being easy at the post office during this pandemic. So many are now shopping online regularly then add Christmas and it has to be nutty.

I would take a deep breath, phone them and explain to them calmly that your concerned about the recent order. Please explain to them how this order was handled and not being up to their standards based on the past. They may be operating short of staff or even over worked staff due to illnesses. So many people would rather not work and collect unemployment rather than work and earn less. A sad fact of life in America. I have heard and witnessed about chick orders and egg orders going through the postal services. The Postal services are working with highest volume of packages than ever before and they too get sick. Times are tough all over. It is a good thing you were alert. Good luck with your order and I pray all goes better.

Meyer has also drastically changed their website and ordering process. It's EXTREMELY difficult to navigate or to place an order. You can't even add Marecks vaccination to your order. I've complained to them about it, but they just don't care. I've gotten all of my birds from them in the past, but never again.

I feel so bad about making this post as they have been generous to me in the past but I can't get over not letting me know the chicks were shipped. And I had to kill two EE chicks that had splayed legs from that order. I hated it and hated being put in that position.

I use the website and placed orders with zero issues and you can add the vaccination?
