wth is wrong with my quail?

My quail are about a year and a half old. I know they're on the downward of their lifespan but, they went through what looked like a molt, and then their feathers never came back! Oh, and ALL ten of them have this and have stopped laying eggs totally. This is horrible for me as they are my source of eggs and were laying a reliable ten eggs a day.

They are acting completely normal, eating a ton as usual and drinking, getting warmth and light, still loving their dust baths. I haven't changed a thing about diet, water, or sand bath. I'm baffled.

Anyone know what this is? No flock exposure to any other birds at all, they are not being bred right now, their rooster is in another habitat. They are inside in an insulated garage with no cars in it, and they have a heat source.

Someone advise!!!! I'm sad.

I know chickens appreciate extra protein when they're molting, how much do your quail get normally? Mine haven't been through a major molt like this yet but they're on 24% minimum.

What % protein are they on? Gamebird feed or regular chicken/meat bird feed? Sunlight/vitamin D supplements? Ever been wormed or any signs of mite activity?

Oh, they often wont lay at all if the roo is away, that is probably the cause for that along with the stress of whatever is going on there^ That doesn't mean I would add him back now, the poor ladies could probably use the rest.

Definitely agree, I have the quail on 28% gamebird feed plus mealworms.

I used to live on the border, I am so sorry. I understand of what you speak. Now I live somewhere so obnoxiously sunny it's currently sunshining and snowing intensely at the same time.

That would be my guess. I would treat them and the coop.

They have mites, you can actually see some of them in the pics you posted.
