WV Spring ChickenStock Sat. April 24 8-12 TSC Martinsburg

I am bringing wheaten ameracauna chicks
blue/black/splash marans chicks
white phoenix chicks
a few exchequer chicks
and a few black sumatra chicks.

IF I have room I can bring adults of these varities... but please order them now so I can figure out how to pack them up.
Does anyone want peacocks or sebastopol geese? email me [email protected]

Faykoko, maybe you can rig the night stand lamp up as a warmer... just lay it on it's side in the bathroom over the box??

Can't wait to see everyone... keep fingers crossed about the rain. I've been getting calls/emails like crazy asking if we have a rain date

Im reluctant to do that as I know many people (buyers and sellers) who are getting hotel rooms the night before. I'll have a canopy and some other will. ....maybe we can space them 12' apart and attach tarps for additional space? I have an old nasty tarp... does anyone have a nice one that is big?

Hopefully, it won't start til afterward... keep a close eye.

we are bringing our 18 ft closed trailer. If someone wants to run tarps off of each side for themselves that would be fine. We have ladder racks they can tie to.

Just kidding but I'm getting some.
sebastopol geese ~ I wish. My bator was full for the sale when she could ship eggs for me. I hope she still can. If not she will have more colors next year!
Sorry keep putting it in the Quote area.

What time does the testing start?

I would like to make the 3 hour trip in daylight on Fri and get a motel room but what happens when the roosters start in at 4 or 4:30 am .........they would probably throw me out of a motel. Any ideas?

Re keeping chicks warm: the hand warmers sound like a good idea, I took one with me on a trip yesterday with my 3 day old chick, but it was insistent that I not be out of its sight and rode at the back of my neck with a cashmere scarf around my neck which was too hot for me. In a motel room, why couldn't you bring a heat lamp (brooder type) and plug it in over a box?

If I manage to make the trip I am planning to bring:

a pair of silver/gray Dutch bantams (first I need to catch them, good fliers),

a Lavender (Self-Blue) Belgium d'Uccle Bantam trio,

a Dark Cornish bantam trio,

a Black Japanese Bantam trio,

a Blue Cochin bantam rooster with either a blue or birchen hen (both hens are mothering 2 chicks each of Lavender d'Uccle/Blue Silkie cross abt 3 wks old, 2 are blue, 2 are lavender) I really want to keep both these girls for brooders, but my DH says the roo must go, so it would be better if he has a mate (he has been looking after the chicks anyway).

I have two pet Silkie boys that are blue but look black, they look like twins and have to stay together.....We call them the Nestie boys as they both love making and sleeping in a nest.

Is there any interest in the above? They are all about a year old, and the girls are laying.

Also I have a standard size trio hatched on Xmas that are Golden Comet/RIR cross and should be good layers in another month or two.

If I don't run out of time I'll bring some Silkie diapers (other bantams too) that I designed and make, or I can take orders.

did you say bantam dark cornish

I wish I wish.. I just don't have the room for 1 more stinkin breed!

Soaring chicks, that sounds awesome about the trailer... Im getting there around 6:30 to set up. Early birds can help.
