WV Spring ChickenStock Sat. April 24 8-12 TSC Martinsburg

Thanks,
I might get some to hatch for a gift to a friends kids. They are thinking of doing 4h next yr. They have never saw a Lav. before.
It would be good training from start with just rare enough to get them realliy hooked.

Ok I just might keep one or two for myself.
I just have to check with their mom and dad to be sure.
I'll let you know. ? have you ever keep a silkie with Std chickens? A good broody sounds nice right now. Not that I really need one.
Just checking.

JMO, but I'd think that a locale like TSC would bring more casual customers out unless you'd like it to morph into more of a poultry breeder's show. That would probably limit the number of people who would make a special trip. I know where the Berkeley fair grounds are. Where are the Jefferson ones located?

Is there going to be another show in the fall?

BTW, just to follow up, incubator run is over and ended up with around 75 chicks. Missed the show by that much

As an aside, I spoke to a lady at the swap who was selling bucket waterers. She was sold out when we spoke, but she mentioned that she got the nipples locally. If she's monitoring this thread, could she please respond and let me know where she gets the nipples around Martinsburg for her buckets? I can order online, but like to help out locals when I can.

Hey Tom, Welcome to BYC. I know Tammy would like to get cracking on a Fall show/ swap at the fairgrounds... maybe we can move the fall one but keep the Spring one at TSC. I kinda like it there myself... at least til we outgrow it

Tom.

I really do want to start having shows in WV and have more West Virginians bitten by the show bug. Some of these shows are soo far away...I would love to go to the Kentuckiana show on May 15th, but it is over 7 hours one way. There is no way I can talk my hubby into that one.

I love the TSC location, it is an hour closer for me than it would be if we moved it to Jefferson County. I have no desire to shoot myself in the foot or make things harder for me...I just want to add poultry shows to our great state. Some of the people who live in MD and VA would definitely participate in the show and many of them have beautiful show stock. Also, when taking into consideration for a show...building, cages, place for vendors, ample parking, bathroom facilities... Only the Berkeley or Jefferson Fairgrounds can help us. I hear that the Jefferson one is easy to get to and overall received a better rating from those polled. Anyone interested in assisting me on this endeavor...stand up and shout, pm me, give me a call. This will be an undertaking worth sharing, I believe.

Who's up for another Chickenstock? I was just in Gower's feed in Ranson and they asked if we could host one

Linda, our local chickenlady, has to prepare for the Jefferson County Fair so I'd have to get the details of when would be a good time.. maybe last week in June or early July. Our fair is the 2nd week of August.

I'm all in! I'm hatching silkies like crazy, and I have my 1st batch of BCM in the bator! WooHoo!

Also have bantam cochin chicks left, and may sell some of the adults as well!

A reason to get together with other chicken people???

Count me in. Let me know what I can do to help. Also, if an NPIP person has to be at thew fair, maybe a little sales area there might not be a bad idea.

If it is late June or July I'll have some to sale.
I have 3 roos to sell again

I hope the roo people will be there. 2 Blue Marans,1 Nice BLRW with the dark blue.
I might have some Orpintons Split blk/Lav. maybe some EE's
I'll know be then if I'll have BLRW to breed or if I sell out and have a new breed.
I might buy some chicks or eggs. Depends if I get my BLRW pullets or not.

And, Linda is a tester so Jonathon doesn't have to come back. I'll get a date nailed down this week then we can get this train rollin all over again
