Hello,
I have 6 3/4 day old chicks, wyandotte, maran, ee, orpington, cochin and sussex. The wyandotte is bigger than the others and often stands on top of the heat plate and cheeps really loudly.
There is plenty of food and fresh water available and I have adjusted the heat plate so it is slightly higher at one side. She doesn't sound distressed and its not constant, but just wondering if there's something I am missing.
Any help appreciated thanks!

That’s pretty normal for day olds. Sometimes they are so loud I can go outside, shut the door and walk out on the lawn and still hear them  . It’s worse when one is ahead of all the others by a day... they can’t stay in the bator forever so they’re on their own in the brooder screaming bloody murder. Maybe show it the other chicks so it knows it’s not alone.

Thanks, I was wondering if it was just her wanting attention, if I go to her she calms right down and she doesn't cheep if the others are out with her. Seems obvious when I say it like that 🙈
