Chirping
We picked up some chicks yesterday, and as soon as we got them in the brooder we noticed 1 had pasty butt. I cleaned gently, and it looked like her vent was protruding so we kept checking her and the others. At one point, we found her soaked and on her back. She'd fallen into the little waterer. Took a while, but got her warm and dry and back in the broader. I hadn't seen her eat or drink, so I dipped her beaks into the water a few times and she did drink. Sat her by the feeder, nothing. She started running around, which I thought was a good sign, until.I realized she was running into everything - other chicks, feeder, waterer, walls... She settled and laid down..
Today she has managed to get stuck on her back multiple times. She cannot stand. She acts as though she can't see. She's noticeably smaller than the other 3 wyandotte chicks same age. I have dipped her beaks into the water and also into egg yolks, which she did eat some of. I have ACV in the water. No sign of pasty butt and her vent looks totally normal.
What am I missing? I don't know if she's blind, weak, sick... her legs look okay, but even when she could stand she was wobbly.
I'm doubting she'll survive, but I want to try.
