So I've been lurking around the forum for quite some time now but never joined until yesterday which is when I finally got some chickens! They are 6 week old unsexed Wyandotte chickens. I have had this breed before but it was a while ago and they were SL and GL. My new chickens are a bit of a mystery to me, I'm not very familiar with Wyandotte genetics and was hoping someone could help me figure out what their colours are. Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: Thought I'd post another picture of chick one who seems to be getting a lot more gold feathering on its back, it also has white feathering on its chest. I have a feeling this one's a roo.

looks like blue ones to me. Blue can come in different shades from almost black to very light and also laced
Thank you for the reply! I thought they were blue but the lady I got them off confused me by saying they are buff which I thought were golden brown

Put up some new photo's I'm kinda puzzled about this little one, I've been looking through Wyandotte photo's of various colours but cant find one matching this chick.

hmmm.... don't know what to tell you because I'm in the same boat with some of my project blue laced polish. Some, as little chicks look solid blue but as they get about 3 or so months old some of these solid blues start to get white in the middle of the feathers. In the end they end up being a blue laced polish but not as nice as the chicks that start off that way.

Sit back and watch (keep us updated too with pictures

) might be you got someones project color

Just thought I'd keep this updated as it's cool to see how this little guy is changing. He's growing in more golden feathers on his back and more silver laced feathers on his chest. Still not sure on colour but 99% sure its's a roo.

Next to his "brother" who seems to be feathering out the same colour except lighter.

His feathers are a more golden colour but my ipod makes it look a lot lighter in pictures.

They look like a mix-if the breeder had Buff also-you look to have a cross between the two colors(kinda cool!). If it didn't have the tan color mixed in, I'd have said they look like Blue wyandottes. Maybe she had a rooster jump a fence and visit with the wrong hens
