I found someone locally getting out of the chicken business and picked up 1 blue laced red rooster with poor lacing, a blue laced red hen, a black laced red hen and a splash laced hen and 16 juveniles.

I had some good color come out of the juveniles, but had a few odd colors.

Blue laced red hen and rooster (poor lacing):

Nice blue laced red cockeral:

Splash laced red cockeral:

I initally thought this guy was a splash as his body ground color appears splash, but has blue hackles. I'm thinking he might just be a light blue. Any thoughts on this color?

What color is this hen? Appears blue laced, but the neck and breast feathers are different.

And then there is the cockeral:

These were mixed from his hatches. The adult pens had BBS laced red and BBS solid Wyandottes. I'm guessing just wyandotte mixes.

I would say just mixes, the main rooster and one of the cockerel is missing the lacing pattern, If I had to guess I would say they are missing at least one of the three genes required for lacing(Ml, Pg and Co) from the pic the cockerel is missing the Pattern gene Pg(it clearly has Ml and Co) and the main rooster is missing Columbian and the pattern gene.

I'm planning on replacing the rooster with the well patterned cockeral.

What are your thoughts on this pullet then?
