Wyandotte Comb Not Growing!?

Good afternoon!

This might be a silly question. This is my first flock so I always have questions as issues or concerns arise.

I have two ~ 10 weeks old Blue Wyandotte pullets (or so I believe they are) one of them has a beautiful red rose comb developing and the other one... not so much. She has a very dull colored rose comb and it’s kind of a pale color with grey hue to it. They are both from the same hatch.

They are on a good feed, get let out to free range daily, and have access to fresh vegetables daily.

My biggest concern is that their sister recently passed away due to a high possibility of Marek’s Disease. Her comb never developed well and was dull and even started shriveling days before she got ill. So, naturally I’m extremely paranoid that the rest of my flock has been exposed.

Any input on her comb?

I’ve attached pictures of both my Wyandotte girls for comparison. Could the other be a roo?

Thanks in advance!!

Number one is a rooster. The pullets comb won't have developed as much.
I love their feathers. They're beautiful.

Dangit!!! I was told pullets, BUT they were super young so I knew there would be a possibility. He doesn’t act like a roo! They are gorgeous, maybe I’ll keep him. I just don’t have much experience with chickens not to mention a Rooster 🙄

First is a cockerel, the second a pullet. It will still be a few weeks until you start to see male feathering develop. Remember that he is still young, he won't start to act rooster-ish until his hormones kick in.

Thank you!
