I sure wish you could get this variety going again. They're so attractive (like all Wyandotte colors). I hope the silver pencilled recovery project goes well too. Great birds!

Here are some more for ya.

White Laced Red/These girls were old and their color was not as vibrant as it once was.

Khaki/ The splash equivalent with Dun

Silver Pencilled hens/ Male is a Partridge/SP cross used for breeding

Beautiful laced "dottes!" I love the golden laced pattern and wish we saw more of it.

Sixpugs,

The WLR may be a lost cause for me at this point. Unfortunate as I have had them since 97'.
I am doing good so far with the SP this spring. I think I have hatched out over a dozen and have about 3 dozen eggs set to hatch this weekend.
I am using the male I got from you over all of my females and they are all laying well at the moment. SO, now just have to wait until they grow out and see what Ive got...........ah patience...

Well, I call that rooster Red, but he's not the only Red on the place. And I can't tell the hens apart except by their leg bands.
The only one with a formal name is my son's pet, another Silver Laced named Murray. He's too short backed to be in the breeding program though.

I try to name my breeder birds after John Wayne movie characters (except for the Partridge family). Problem is, I forget who they are and refer to them by band numbers. We do have a pair of pensioners (black breasted red Old English game bantams) that we call Cornflake (because he looked like the Kellogg's logo) and Mrs. Cornflake. No problem forgetting who they are!

Guess I am too old fashioned when it comes to birds, I dont name any of my birds....never have.

Sixpugs, i need an update on how all of your hatching is going. Hopefully those SL and Columbians have been productive for you.

It is a shame to lose that entire line. I cannot imagine why it isn't a much more popular color here. Can't wait for your SP's to get going. I am happy they're working for you. Hopefully there will be some great chicks to keep it going.
I tried a couple of experiments, which I'm wondering if they're going to be a wreck or not! LOL! When they get some size on them, I'll get some pics.

well i tryed and cant figure out how to post pictures. I used to be able to but took a break form this site for a while and when i came back ALL of my pics from ALL of my albums where gone after so many hours of editing and uploading i dont have the patients to do them all again, and they must have changed the site cause i cant figure out how to add the img code for it to appear in this thread anymore.

I had some BLRW babies i wanted to show off...

All your wyandottes are lovely...

Created by a cross between Dun and Silver laced. The Dun dilutes the black lacing of the SL, hence the lighter color.
I created a Dun Laced Gold way back when by crossing Duns with GL. Was a pretty color but went by the wayside.
I think the White Laced Reds kind of got lost in the mix somewhere along the way. 15 years ago when I started there were probably a half dozen different breeders of them around the country, now I think there may be one other in the midwest but have not been able to get in touch with them.
