Wyandotte Crosses

Ech, that sucks. I think it's been happening over here a bit too, prices have been going up. Hope my new chicks aren't affected! Been trying to think of a way for your friend to get out of her predicament.

haha Yeah, it stinks. Hoping to get some Brahmas next year, though.
Those are pretty fun. The one breed I've been thinking about (never going to happen, though) is one of the Hawaiian roosters I saw when I stayed with a friend on the Big Island. They had the prettiest plumages and they had awesome attitudes.

Oh, I've seen those. They're junglefowl, right?

Yeah I think so. They could also be hybrids, not really sure. They were funny
Yeah, I think they are. The Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus) is the ancestor of the chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus). I think the Red was hybridized with the Grey Junglefowl to produce chickens. You could probably find some for sale; the do sell them.

Eh, maybe next time. I'm going to the feed store on Friday, I already have my choices picked out!

That's great! What are you getting?
I doubt this forum will ever end, haha. I'm getting a Wyandotte (no idea which variety, they're all pretty), a Rhode Island Red, a Buff Orpington, and a Barred Rock. I might get an extra chick of some sort to provide for the unfortunate possibility of illness in my baby flock, but that's all I can fit in my suburb backyard as of this moment.
