Hey all,

I got a straight run a few months ago and have had a lot of fun watching the chicks (my first) develop. They came from a group of Wyandotte, Easter Eggers and Marans and I am pretty sure these are not Marans. :)

So the big question is....which breed? And I am pretty sure all of these are roos (out of a group of 8 total, the others are easily identified). Please tell me what you think. We have a maran rooster that we are keeping and if these 4 are boys also, it is sad but they need to go.

Thanks!

Veronica

I LOVE This guy!!! What a beauty!

Thanks PG Ranch! I really like him and the other one similar colored. We are in the middle of nowhere and none of them crow or are aggressive, we may just have to keep a couple of roos for their looks. The Maran is the obnoxious crower...... :)

Thank you all really for your help. Now to decide what to do with these guys. There is a poultry swap coming up, but I get the feeling I am not the only one with extra roos to deal with. I hate the thought of eating any of them, but it is an option. Ugh! I should have gotten grown up hens, but then I would have missed out on them growing up.
