I'm a bit curious to know if this is, in fact, a Blue Laced Wyandotte
hu.gif
It was from a local breeder, who only had Wyandottes, Marans and Speckled Sussex. Are Wyandottes supposed to have feathery feet?

She/he does have a redish dot on the side of her head too

Any chance on getting a gender id as well?

It's not a wyandotte....they don't have feathered feet and it has a single comb...wyandottes have a rose comb. If they had Marans it could be a blue Marans.

It could be! I know she's sure purty, fairly sweet too!! And she's a BIIIIIIIIIIIGun! I sure do hope its a pullet!!!! Her/him and the other Maran are 1 1/2 wks behind my first batch of chicks, and they're bigger then most of em

I am in the process of raising my very first flock.the majority of which are Wyandotts. My blue laced girl is bigger and fluffier than my Orpingtons but a bit standoffish. She never looked like the pics above.I'll try to upload some tomorrow. She is beautiful! But that being said I've noticed there are variations in each breed. I stopped at one of the feed stores and what they called a blue and red looked like a scraggly mutt mix. So I guess it may depend on the line from which they came. :)

What does a rosé comb look like?
