Hi
smile.png
I have a flock of 8 chickens, 7 hens and 1 rooster.

The hens are all Golden Comet hens and the rooster is a Golden laced wyandotte. If one of the hens were to go broody and hatch out chicks, would the chicks have traits of the Golden Comet hens ,which are known for their excellent egg production, and also have traits of a wyandotte chicken? Or what kind of traits would the chicks have with this "weird" parent mixture??

I am not sure about the genetics some may turnout like either parent. I say do it lets see what happens. What could it hurt.

I hatched 6 eggs which the hen was Buff orphington and the roo is a BLRW, and all 4 hens and 2 roos look like buff orphingtons with just a little blueish down, but definaetly look like orphingtons.

I don't know about color but I think the pullets would make great layers and the cockerals would get big enough to eat, if'n you're so inclined.
