Wyandotte Roo Color

Thank you! He is find everywhere else, but there. :/

What would you all say he is mixed with? Looks to be a second or third generation of breeding the mixing out. Wondering if I can ever get 100% silver laced out of him.

I think maybe a Gold laced was in the mix.
I don't think you can get a pure out of a mix. I think they may look correct but would still have the mixed genes.
That means their young could be off standard.
He is really a very handsome rooster.

Have you named him?

If not how about Josey Wales?

You could have red or gold from some generations back leaking through. He's got a squirrel tail too, but if you're not going to show him or breed for type, that's not a big deal.

Agree.

He looks like a mix. His tail is tall too. My neighbor just got a BLRW beautiful boy! He's pretty wide though and walks bull legged with a short tail. What a nice and beautiful boy he is though.

I can't wait to hatch eggs from him with a EE in the future. ;)

I don't know what he's mixed with, but he sure is handsome!

That's what is referred to as gold leakage, and is from mixed blood somewhere back in the gene pool. It's also a good way to sex younger birds as only roosters get that on the wings. It usually increases with age, so he may turn golder as the years pass.
