Wyandotte Sexing GLW and SLW

Hi Everyone,

Everyday we are out observing our chicks to see what sex they are going to turn out to be. So we thought we would put some photos up of our SLW and GLW and take photos of them as they grow. We have Four GLW and two SLW. They are just on four weeks old in the photos. We can see one definite rooster but the other 5 are still unknown. We will take photos along the way to see their progress but happy for anyone to have guesses along the way. They are chicks from a Breeder as well.

Apologies for the pictures if we had let them go to stand for the photo they would have been out of there. These are really flighty chicks.

They sure are pretty! Hopefully someone that knows how to sex them will come along soon.

It's early to sex them with certainty, but I think you are right about GLW2 being a cockerel. GLW1 is the only other slightly suspicious bird, in my opinion. The rest look like pullets so far.

Did you buy them sexed or straight run?

GLW #2 is highly likely to be a cockerel, and I'm slightly suspicious with #4 as well.

Too young, other than the obvious boy.
Post pics at 6-8 weeks please of their combs.

Thanks for the comments so far. The plan is to take photos at weekly intervals and post so will def keep updating. They are straight run as well.

Just thought we would add some more photos of the chicks at 6 weeks. GLW 2 is still def a male. The others we are still unsure of. GLW 2 is the only one that fights so far with our other pekin rooster chick.
