After finding out all 5 of my bantams were cockerels. I'm today about to send them off to camp. Of the three birds I have left I think I probably have two cockerels (So one pullet out of 7 hatched :-( )

Would appreciate a double check before they go. They are all 10 weeks old.

This guys is our large GLW, I'm certain he's a cockerel. The comb come in pretty quickly and he's been this red for weeks. He's a lot bigger than the other two.

Next is our other smaller GLW, she has no red at all and is quite a bit smaller. I'm again certain this is a pullet.

Lastly my SLW. This is the one I'm unsure about. You can see next to the hen they're the same size. Definitely smaller than the GLW I think is a cockerel. A little bit of a wattle but very little comb and it's very pale, nowhere near as deep as the big guy.

Your second Golden Laced Wyandotte looks like a pullet, but the SLW and the other GLW are cockerels.

Thanks Wyandotte7 really appreciated :) I was thinking that myself but wanted to be sure before they went.

Ended up with one pullet out of seven :-(

Ahh well, I have another 7 three weeks behind these ones, hopefully more girls in there.

they all look like pullets how old are they? you can NOT go by comb and wattles on these. you send these to freezer you will be highly upset at yourself!! the silver laced is the only one that has a chance to become a cockerel.

They're already gone and they both had testicles, so I'm confident we got it right. I couldn't wait much longer as some of the cockerels were already loudly crowing, so they had to go.

the silver laced is the only one with possible cockerel coloring the other two have pullet coloring. male laced birds do not have that lacing on the wing bows they have solid colored wing bows that show up around 10-15 weeks of age. with wyandottes the comb and wattles do develop a bit fast on both genders and they redden up sooner as well so with these unless they are crowing you should always go by color.

coming from silver laced, blue laced red, and gold laced wyandotte experience and breeding
