Wyandotte X Araucana

Hi there,

I have five 15 week old EEs and only one is obviously a boy to me. Please tell me because I’m so clueless: How many boys do you see?

Assuming you know #1 is your boy, you were CORRECT. He's the only male!
Also, they've got no Wyandotte blood as far as I can tell.
The first one had some lacing but because none have rose combs or yellow skin I can't see the Wyandotte in them.

If you bred them yourself then I totally trust you. I'd just definitely expect more Wyandotte traits, haha!

The first two look like they may have rose or walnut (rose x pea) combs. Keep in mind that many wyandottes are heterozygous for single combs or don’t have the rose comb gene at all. Also, white skin (what crested araucanas have) is dominant over yellow skin.

I hatched three half silver-laced Wyandotte, half Ameraucana chicks last spring. Two were pullets, and are solid blue, with walnut combs. The one cockerel was blue with gold hackle and saddle feathers. I was surprised they didn't look more like Wyandottes too! I love your cockerel, though. Very handsome.
