Hi everyone! I could use a little help from the more experienced chicken keepers out there. I got these two cuties as straight run chicks from a breeder, and now that they’re 8 weeks old, I’m a bit stumped.
The splash chick feathered out really quickly, so I was pretty confident it was a pullet—until its comb started turning pink and wattles made a sudden appearance. Now I’m second-guessing.
The black-laced one, on the other hand, was super slow to feather and its comb and wattles came early. I’ve been told that Wyandotte cockerels don’t usually get lacing on their wings, which adds to my confusion.
So I’m wondering—are there any Wyandotte pros here who might be able to help me figure out if I’ve got roos, pullets or maybe one of each?
