Hello! Wyatt is a 7 week old Wyandotte. I got Wyatt from a bin of sexed females at TS, but am wondering if Wyatt might be a roo. Wyatt is very nice, and I plan to keep him/her regardless. I’d really appreciate any thoughts! Thank you!

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond! Cockerel was my guess, but this is my first flock and my only Wyandotte of this age (I have two who are younger and indoors still).

And, yay, we don’t even have to change his name, so I guess if TS was going to be wrong, it’s better that it happened with Wyatt than Chloe.

Thanks again!

That's a significant set of comb and wattles so you're definitely right to be suspicious, but Wyandottes are known to be deceptive.

I don't see any sign of the male white wing bow -- though it might be a little early for that.

I lean male, but don't be too surprised if it does turn out to be female. :)
Thank you! I had no idea there were other things to look for. I will keep watching how Wyatt's feathers develop. And eventually, Wyatt will either crow or lay an egg. Having a roo isn't an issue where we live, so I plan to keep Wyatt regardless.
