X battery hens.

We took 4 hens ready to be slaughtered so we took them. Now had them 6 weeks and they live with 9 cats and our lovely Staffordshire terrier of which they all love in harmony. We ate going to rescue some more little souls.

Welcome to Backyard chickens!! I hope you enjoy it and the camaraderie here and everybody that goes nuts over chickens (me being one of them....) Have fun! And ask questions! Thanks for rescuing them! I passed a truck with white leghorns all loaded up, surely headed somewhere like the Cambel soup factory. Made me so sad. They spend their whole lives producing with us and don't even get the respect to live out their life.
