Sorry to hear the bad experience, but don't give up on chickens completely. My hens have brought me nothing but joy. I take my roosters to the local feed store and I get store credit on feed for my chickens. I had thought about eating all the roosters and went as far as buying a killing cone and blades, but after 2 years I still don't have it in me yet. I leave their fate with the store and walk away and hope for the best for their future.
