Hello All,
Another excited "new to chickens" and BYC forum person in North Carolina. The Wife and I had talked about the BYC flock movement with "green" benefits plus educational experience for our children, but I "surprised" her by bringing 6 little cheeping fluff-balls home. I now have 5 of the 6 birds (
lost one)I originally got out of an "assorted reds - straight run" pen at a TSC store. I had picked the smallest ones figuring they might not all make it, which would be OK since I'm starting at a BYC flock but they would have a better chance with more room and better care.
Anyways I found BYC forums looking for info on coops & runs and varieties (because only 1 looks like it will be red). I'm looking forward to learning more about chickens and hopefully share some pics of my chicks. Also, I'm worried I will have some males and will not be able to keep according to the local ordinances so I will be seeking advice and maybe new homes for any roosters.
