Yahooo!!!! Day 20 w/ Blue Ameraucanas! *PIPS*

That is what I'm afraid of.

I had to clean the EE brooder, so I took another peek at the bator while I was down there. Egg #5 has pipped on the bottom. I wonder if that is bad?????? I hope it can get out ok.

I had a couple that pipped on the botom and came out fine. the first one to hatch was that way!

And I had one that pipped on top, got unzipped partway, and then just died. So you just never know what's gonna happen.

But 4 out of 6 is pretty good!
Are the 2 hold-outs the weird aircell ones?

Good to know about being able to get out from the bottom. Yea, you just never know. Kinda like my little failure bantys.

Actually Egg #5 is one of the misplaced airsac eggs. It's not as bad as Egg#1. It's always been lopsided at the top. Egg # 1 air sac is really weird. It's in the middle.

OK, I really do need to take a shower. I just can't seem to stop checking on them. I know, I know STOP STARING or they won't hatch, but I can't help it!

You are going to laugh, but I still didn't get a shower just yet. I've been tapping, talking, peeping, looking and listening to the incubator trying to encourage them to come out and play.

Egg #4 that is cracking length wise may make it out before egg #6. Egg # 5 has a big pip on the bottom, but can't tell if the membrane is broken or not yet.

Egg #2 is still the same. It's just a small hole on the outside.

Yahooo!!!!!!

We were just down in the dungeon and dd thought she saw Egg#1 move, but you know how that goes. Is it in my imagination.........or did I really see that!

Now that I think about it the first egg I "thought" I saw move was #5 and that's the one I discoved that pipped on the bottom.

Hi Kim!!!!! I'm so glad your hatch is going well!!!

I just got on here - I've been working!!! - silly me

This thread is hilarious - it's like listening to the announcer at a horse race!!!! . . .and here comes egg #5, she's really cracking that shell, . . . and now it's egg #2 making her big move. . . . . LOL

If I can find the time this evening, I'll put some photos of my week-and-a-half old Blue Ameraucana babies on here so you can see what your babies will look like.

Hurry up babies!!! Grandma wants to see you!!!! (Oh geez, did I just call myself, Grandma????!!!!

Alright, back to work - I'll check back in later

I know I'm so silly, but I can't stop watching them. Wegotchickens was teasing me for measuring every little crack. I was so calm this morning when I thought I wouldn't see anything until tonight, but as soon as I saw a pip it all fell apart. I'm just so excited over these eggs and can't wait to see how this new incubator does.

With my last hatch I never saw a pip. I just heard a peep and then it zipped and hatched out about 2 - 2.5 hrs later, but that was a diff breed and diff incubator. It's really hard to see in the old Brower small window.

I can't wait to see the pictures of the ones you just hatched. I think Jack & Belle (parents) are just gorgeous.

OK, I'm going to go check on them and then take dd to piano lessons.
