Yard cleanup, should I keep?

Just chopped down the ornamental grass from last season. Should I keep this stuff? My concern is I have read hay is no good for chooks. They eat it? Thoughts? It's a whole garbage can.

Get rid of it, or use it in a deep litter system. There's no nutritional value to it.

How big is it?
I have the 8' tall giant type, one year I used the hedge trimmers to chop it into lengths of about 3" then added it my run. I bundle it with straps before cutting at ground level then laid bundles on a table and cut ends into a garden cart.

It's about 3-4ft. I would use for dlm or nesting boxes . My concern is them eating it and getting a compacted crop.

If you can chop it down it should be nice in deep litter. Otherwise I would worry that a few chickens would try and choke down the long blades.

I would save it for the nest box! But that is just me being cheap! haha
