Hi,
I usually let my chickens run in the yard through out the day. I just had our yard sprayed for bugs/spiders/etc from a professional pest service. Do you know how long I should wait to let my chickens run on the yard again?

Thank You,
Becky

Unfortunately, I have no good answer.

Sounds like a good question for the person who did the spraying. If they are spraying it, they should know.

Call the company you hired and asked them, they are the only ones that know exactly what chemicals they sprayed and should be able to give you details or at minimum provide you with a list of what they sprayed so you can contact the manufacture of said chemicals... Make sure to emphasis you are asking about roaming chickens and not dogs/cats...

They said a couple days which its been 2 days and also rained last night so I might give it one more day.

Thanks,
Becky

I would be concerned about the effects of ingesting the pesticide on plants. Also if this could be in the eggs? Perhaps it just dissipates and no traces left? I imagine the pesticide company is familiar with risks of contact with pets. Hopefully they understand that chickens would be eating plants.

I would find out what products were used, and research drug effects myself. The folks that did the spraying my not really know what your are talking about, and eating eggs and chickens exposed to some products is a bad idea. Mary
