Yard Thrashers!

[my chickens mom]

We have 8 girls on 4 acres. We have allowed them to free range when we are at home. The problem is they won't stay out of our nice front yard and keep scratching up the sedum ground cover. Any hints on how to keep them out of this area?

Fence off the sedum; build a nice covered run for them; keep them in the house (too extreme?); you don't wanna know the last one!
