Yard Work 10 a hour

If yall lives closer by I would jump at these job opportunity's. I have been out of work, and finding a job that doesn't require years of experience is hard to come by.

Well, the problem is that you are using craigslist. Most of the people I know who use craigslist are nerds like myself, who are VERY reluctant to do yard work for anything less than $50/hour (gotta keep our nice white skin going

). Try posting an ad outside the local grocery store and feed stores, might find more willing people there.

Maybe rephrase it to sound like more. If you need a days work done, post something like $60 for yard work and have them work for 6 hours. To me, $10 does not sound like much, but $60 would grab my interest. Plus, since kids aren't really self sustaining yet, it will take more to get them to work outside on a weekend when they don't need to.

I Do yardwork for nearly the whole neighborhood. I do lawns for a set price, but other than that my price is exactly $10 an hour! So sounds good to me!

I forgot to mention that I got my first labor-boys by calling the school and talking to the leader for the FFA club. I knew those boys could sling some hay and not look down their noses art a dirty stall.

She posted the Job on her bulletin board and my phone rang off the hook with nice young people callin' me Ma'am.

So, if you are looking for an 'in', most schools have FFA clubs and the members are usually from hard working farm families.

Just another thought...

Well, I've been able to get jobs from craigslist for being a nanny, housesitter, petsitter, cleaner and I'm double college degreed. I think it's the attitude about work some people have. I think ALL work has dignity and value....You might also try posting in some alternative on line sites. such as free job ads in local papers on line.

If I were close, I'll help you for that. As a farmer, no longer a pencil pusher, I make wayyyy....less than that hourly. Also there are job boards at many churchs and they used to be at unemployment offices as well.

Best of luck.

I would do it in a heartbeat! My kids would also do it!!! Shoot, so many kids now do not want to "work" for their money..!!

NYBoy, I've run into the same problem here, offered a number of boys in the neighborhood $20 to do like an hours worth of work (sod removal), and they all looked at me like I was crazy. Too busy riding skateboards and causing trouble I guess. It's the "I'm owed" mentality of most of today's youth in NY.

Well my 14 year old has a Kobota that his Grandpa bought him and a weedwacker.

Price of the Kubota? He has to cut the grass at the house, at the rental house and at the Family business..... about 4 acres total....

He gets to use the Kubota to cut the grass down at the local diner (about an acre) he gets a $30 food voucher which he often uses to treat his brother and I to dinner or lunch..

I just bought a little trailer to help him and he plans to cut a few more lawns this summer, I am teaching him the fine art of weeding a garden and he is going to specialize a bit and cater to those who just can't work outside as much as they want, but want flower gardens.

He will pay me gas and a few bucks for sitting. I am proud of him.

It is sad to see the way the younger generation feels that they are "owed" just because they exist... and I say that cause sadly I see it every day at work driving for a local school. I tell the Juniors and Seniors I drive the truth about what's waiting for them and they think it's a joke, that their parents are going to continue to support them.... or the girls think they will find a guy with money....

I wish we were closer.... I'd have both of my sons help you out, and they would.....
