Especially if I got to work with/around animals. And dirt...thats what soap is for! I wouldn't mind helping anyone out if they asked me and I can't believe some people want that much for just mowing a lawn. I'm 20 years old and I would want to think that I am part of a majority but sadly I'm not.

shoot you should talk to my kids, they get $5 for all day working in the yard. better yet I won't let them near you they will never work for me again.

Have you considered checking in with the boy scouts ( not cub). My son is a cub scout so I see our guys all the time. I picked them because I wanted teens that would show up, do the job, and that I could trust. I was hesitant to post anything on craigslist because I don't think its safe to have these strangers coming to my house. I can't always have a shotgun handy.

Anywho its an idea. 4h clubs, scouts.... anyway just an idea

I dont even get paid to work in my yard lol, I just choose to. Im a teen, the only thing I dont have to worry about outside once in awhile is mowing but I do it most of the time. I wish I got paid. For $10 an hour, I would jump on it. I would do it for $5 an hour, I don't care how hot it is haha.

A couple of years ago I made the same offer to my college students. All of them turned up their noses, all the while whining about being broke. Sheesh!

This year I approached specific students who I knew had a strong work ethic. They have come out several times now and always work hard for me. I have even had them go work for my parents. They are happy with $10 an hour and a hot dinner.

Try calling the local university. Look for an AG department or construction or something that is hands on. You will have better luck than calling a non-active department.

Good luck! It's frustrating.
