Yawning

My chickens were freeranging and got caught in a heavy rain. They made it back to the coop rather wet. They are acting perfectly fine and happy, but several of them were opening their beak in a funny looking yawn. Anybody know what that about?

They could be adjusting their crops, it looks like a yawn.
I've got a young bird that turned up at our farm after Zeta came through in quarantine. She is eating, drinking ok but is also "yawning". She has a full crop. She also seems to be straining as if to lay an egg or poop (too young to lay, just pooped). All related and normal? She is quite relaxed and seems content otherwise.

My birds yawning was just adjusting their crop. In your case I would check her crop in the early morning and make sure it's empty. I don't know what to do about straining to poop.
