Do chickens yawn? It sounds like a silly question but when I get angry I go hang out with my chickens to calm me down and I went out there tonight and I was holding one and she opened her mouth really wide for about 3 seconds and then closed it. Also, do chickens normally have warm feet? Especially on hot days like today (high 80's).
and Welcome To BYC! Mine do that also sometimes, think it is a reaction to stress / pressure we are putting on their chest when we are holding them. As long as they don't do it excessively otherwise to make me think of gapeworm, I don't worry about it. A chickens normal body temp range is warmer than ours, up to around 105-107 if I remember right, so they are usually warm feeling to us, including their feet.
