So it took a little booty kicking but I finally got DH and friends in action to build me this 8x20 beauty (went with 8' wide so we could trailer it out of here if we ever left).

We were able to use reclaimed wood from green houses we took down on the property (don't worry...chickens won't have access to the studs). So we only had to buy the siding. I may put decorative bead board over it, but I don't really care so much how it looks. We're in San Diego so elements aren't an issue. However, your eyes are not deceiving you...there is still no roof. It is going to take another set of begging, pleading and bargaining to get a roof on (that part isn't fun he says).

So I decided to post here and chronicle how long it takes to actual get a roof. Kids are quickly outgrowing their digs and will need to join the grown ups soon so time is ticking. Maybe I should let DH sleep in the coop until completed...

I'll have to come up with some clever name. Casa de Pollos Loco or some thing like that. Or maybe just Delta Delta Delta (Animal House). Maybe after it's done I'll have a contest.
