I work in an office and my wife and I have chickens in our back yard. Well, word got around and folks started wanting whole fresh broilers. A lady I work with told me the other day "I want the rest of your whole skin on roasters! Just tell me what they cost!" Unfortunately, we skinned most of the birds in the batch (we processed a total of 33 cornish rock crosses), but I brought her in the last 3 unclaimed ones. (kept one for ourselves because the skin is sooo yummy.)

Today, others started pre-ordering them! Yay.... I know, most likely not exactly legal, but I refuse to sell or give them to someone unless i know for a fact that they wont go insane and sue me for something stupid.

You are officially a chicken farmer!!!

Good job farmer!

I don't know what your regulations are but for us up here we can sell upto 100 birds without a quota (that number does change on occation). As long as we do not advertise and they are processed at an inspected abattoire. Which, IMO, is the only way to process birds. Cheap and easy!

Good going! That's a good feeling to know you are producing something that there is a market for.

I have mine processed at a USDA plant and sell them for 2.50-3.00/LB I'm totally sold out, none for myself. Thank goodness I've got 50+ coming on Sept 17th

If that makes me a chicken farmer, I guess I better get some overalls
