Hi everybody,
I'm fairly new to chicken keeping and need to get into gear to finally build a coop for my ladies. We currently have 12 and will probably keep it at that for now.

Welcome to BYC!
How young are your ladies?
They are going to be laying eggs before you know it!

Thanks @penny1960! We have 2 separate flocks of relatively young girls. The first set of chicks (2 Blue Cochins, 1 BO, 1 RIR, 1 Welsummer & 1 Ancona) we got 1 week apart in late Feb/early Mar. Then another hodgepodge set in mid April (2 silver-laced Wyandotte, 1 gold-laced Wyandotte, 1 Barred Rock & 3 Ameraucanas). We're in the process of researching hen houses right now which is proving interesting, especially since I haven't built anything in my life (not counting IKEA furniture). ;)

Pay close attention to the coop threads then, even the novice will get ideas and guidance from those of us I was fortunate to be raised by a carpenter
