! Pleased you joined our community! Love the Speckled Sussex! You might consider a mixed flock - I have 19 birds of 11 different breeds - got them as chicks and they get along great! Best of luck, enjoy BYC, and have fun with your chickens!!
 
Thanks Sue! The store got in their first chicks today, so we went to pick some out... We got 2 Light Brahmas and 2 Barred Rocks. They are all cuddled up in my neck under my hair right now! Hee hee! In two weeks they will be getting some new breeds, and I will be able to add 2 Golden Wyandottes - very excited about those!

Redsoxs - Yes, I want the Speckled Sussex but I don't know how to get any. They seem like the perfect bird! I plan on getting a couple next year once I find someone with chicks. Where did you get yours?
 
I got mine from Murray McMurray Hatchery - but it was a part of a larger order. Most hatcheries have a minimum order - some have lowered that total from 25 to 15. I believe MyPetChicken sells as few as three chicks. You might also check the Buy-Sell-Trade thread. Also look at the Hatcheries & Breeders thread - maybe you can find a SS breeder who can help you out. Good luck and hope you find some!
