Finally after 7 and a half months of waiting my EE, Aurora, laid her first egg!!! I hope my other EE starts laying soon also!

Here is some of my eggs from this week (I am getting approx 4-10 eggs a day) with Auroras olive green egg on top!

When my RiRs started laying, ( I have shelves on the far wall of my chicken house) the egg was on the top shelf! Now we have them laying while the rest aren't laying well.

Thanks!!! First eggs are so exciting, but those first EE eggs are so cool! The first of my original group of chickens ever has just started laying these last 2 weeks (Aurora is one of them) it was totally worth all the hard work and waiting!

My DH had to take the egg to work to show the guys, none of them believed him that chickens lay green or blue eggs lol. Can't wait til my Wheaten Ameraucana starts laying. I am hoping her eggs are a real pretty blue, they will think he dyed the eggs lol.

Congratulations! I love showing people green eggs. Next spring I am going to have to get more green egg layers, as I have only one, she is 6 years old now. She no longer lays during the winter, so I am really hoping she still lays come next year!
