I finally moved our babies out to their permanent home, it it the inside of our barn with access to the outside using a dog kennel. I was nervous last night as our babies are baout 3 & 4 weeks old. They have a heat lamp and hay to snuggle in and I close off the opening to the outside at night. Here are some pics of them enjoying the nice weather today.

Fantastic! I'm brooding seven 2-week-old mallards and I am BEYOND READY for them to be outside. I am at my wits end with the mess!! :crazy

Hubby is supposed to go get a chain link kennel from my dad's this week and I will secure the duckling-level with chicken wire so they can't squeeze out (as well as the top of course). At least that way they can be out during the day! You must be inthe south like me, weather is getting about right!!

Yes, they are messy I had 14 in my garage 2 pekin and 11 mallard and 1 black Swedish (we think, he was supposed to be a mallard) I had to dig a foot around the kennel to bury chicken wire to keep predators out hopefully. We are in Delaware

Ugh you guys are lucky, I'm in Seattle, WA. Still pretty chilly here, and its been raining all week. What's the temperature for you guys recently?

We will be at/near 80's this week. 60's at night. Little dip end of the week of 60's w/ 40's overnight then warming back up. (GA)

Here we have been averaging about 60-70 during the day and 45-50 at night. I have them locked up pretty tight during the early evening hours when it starts getting chilly, I close off access to their outside area. They are starting to feather out so maybe a few more weeks and I will be able to let them go without a heat lamp. I'm way too protective though to do it now with them so far from me now. Today was the first day that they all ran to me when I opened the door to their pen
