Talk about a pain...I applied for my Certificate of Registration to be able to sell birds publicly in my state (Texas) way back in September. Two weeks ago, an agent finally came out to do a head count, and today I got finally got my certificate in the mail. Now I'm all legal and everything! The only issue now is that I have maybe 4 birds that I can sell right now, and that might buy 2 1/2 bags of feed.
But...I'm going to say the glass is half full. Come spring, I won't have to worry about it, and I can hatch babies and not worry about what to do with all the extras. There's a flea market of sorts that has a livestock sale every Wednesday morning. If I don't sell extra birds, I can always sell hatching eggs.
