The same thing happens to my backyard when it rains hard or the snow melts. The ducks love it, the only "pond" theyve ever seen

I am waiting for the water to go down some more before i can see if it's in the bottom of there. Couldnt find it anywhere else i went though so I am sure it fell in while I was trying to grab her ball out of the pipe

.

They all found the old pond this morning. It's pretty mucky these days but I can see where they've already cleaned off some of the vegetation on the top... I am sure there was lots of yummy frogs and squirmy things in there for them to eat. When I went to feed them a few minutes ago, Jenga was trying to choke down a gigantic slug she found on the little island between the creek and pond

. When we had Muscovies years ago, that's where they used to nest, on the 'island', so no one would bother them while they hatched their HUGE clutches of babies... I have yet to see one of my current girls get anywhere close to what the old girls hatched.
