Lol, yes it was more expensive than the coop itself. And now it has an additional electric netting fence around it because we spotted a bear and I didn't think the run would deter a bear.

I had a lot of fun building it, but I must admit I had help from a professional carpenter friend who I paid to help me do the heavy work like the double 2x8s and setting the long 4x4s in the ground, and do the roof. He had the equipment and muscle power that I didn't. It was money well spent. And having a super secure run also allows me to keep the popdoor open 24x7 with complete ease of mind that nothing can get to them.
