Perhaps they will feel generous and just let you have it. It would be in a good home then regardless of its age.

Ack, and more thoughts on that rocker. I think I'm seeing different widths and slopes on the back slats, which would indicate they weren't machine/factory formed but handmade. The spindles all look uniform.

And on the right side of the seat, there's a possible diver from where the leg passes through, was sawed off and chinked. But I don't see it on the other side.

In England the legs tended to pass through. In fact I'm pretty sure they all did and it's one of the indicators for determining a chair's origins. In the States at some point they stopped doing this, so you won't typically find chair leg inserts/seams on the top of the seats.

So cute!! A custom deer lick station!!!!

I have wood left over from the 2x4s we used for rails in our cabin, already stained! Might work on it tonight. Shouldn't take long except staining the exposed ends when i cut them.

I took a close look at the rocker. I think the spot on the right is a knot. Looks out of alignment to be a diver.
The seat looks to be 3 maybe 4 pieces together.
I blew it up really big to see better.

Still a neat chair. Maybe offer 15 for it due to condition.
