YEAH!! I am have a broody hen 😃!!!!

Congrats!! I hope you have a great hatch!

I don't know how big it is or if it would be cooler for her to be in a nest box in the main coop but if a better location would be cooler, I'd try moving her.

If you choose to leave her there, then does she have a way to leave the nest once a day and get to the coop for food/water? That's about how often they get off the nest for a few minutes.

If not, then yes, I'd put food/water in her area. If yes, then still you could put some water near her to be sure she stays hydrated.

You could try a small fan not blowing on her but near her to move the air a little bit. That might help. Watermelon is a good treat too for when it's so hot.

The smaller coop has cross ventilation and privacy. As well, since we found her setting , she has been given fresh water and feed and it will be replenished cold and fresh every day. I DON’T want to move her … she has hunkered down well and I want her to stay put👍🏻 😊

Awesome on the broody!! Mine is due to hatch in about 5 days or so. Couple eggs are smaller so they may hatch sooner.
Size doesn't matter I presume with any breeds but I can only attest it doesn't matter with silkies. They are already a smaller egg, yet, take 21 days the same as larger ones.

I always get a couple even smaller. Using the same breed pen, the same incubators, sometimes they all hatch Day 19, then the next ones will be Day 21, the next ones Day 20. I have no idea why but they all hatch the same day pretty much.

Oh that's interesting. I thought smaller eggs hatch sooner. Well good news. First time broody so I hope they all hatch together quickly for her sake.

Holy smokes we are on day 17 and already a pip!!! I don't understand it. Maybe it's the extreme heat here?

Also.. my broken egg from this clutch is still alive. I can not believe it. It's taped up with clear tape and candle wax on the sides. I need to update that thread. If it lives it will be a miracle.
