Yeah - successfully merged my chicks into the big coop

The babies need to be almost the same size as the bigs = and take it as slow as possible so that the bigs don't hurt the babies. I've moved them out at 4 weeks to the run/nearby coop and by 6 weeks into the coop.

Also - it was late summer so the weather was still warm - I would wait longer or give them a heat lamp now for a longer period.

Went to check on the chicks between rain storms. I saw the five leghorns on their roost but didn't see the babies huddled below. Got worried and then flashed the light to the left and found the babies. They were sitting on the far left side of the roost. Yeah. So glad they're getting along. Too bad everything will be changing once the Roos are gone and the new hatch happens mid October.

This made me chuckle! I used the bathtub in the spare bathroom as a brooder. Boy was I ready to kick them out of the house, after a while!
