we use a small plastic waterer with a quail tray (much smaller) and then when they get bigger, switch to a chicken tray. When they are really big they'll move to the 3 gallon fount with the big girls.

We did this by accident last year, but found it worked perfectly for little chicks.

Wow, it is good you didn't have to drive the 200 miles to pick them up! I am so excited...my chicks will be shipped tomorrow!!!! Your chicks are adorable!

We got 5 silkies from My Pet Chicken last week. They came in the exact same box with 2 little warmer packs. My post person called me and said she had a "peeping " box and did not want to have it in her truck all day. She was afraid that they would get to warm. The minuet I got off the phone with her I ran out the door from work to meet her down the street and put my new babies in thier new house!!! Oh thier little fuzzy butts.....so cute. All were healthy and happy.

It has been a week that we have had the babies and they seemed to have grown twice as big!!!!

Congrats!!! I know exactly how you feel. And yippy for My Pet Chicken for sending us healthy chicks.
