Hello! My year and a half of indian runner duck had a bump on her wing. I tried moving the feathers and I don't see anything on the surface so I assume it is in the wing. She uses the wings a lot so I don't think it is hurting her but I tired pointing with my thumb where it is. It is a medium size bump. Not very small but not huge. Her feathers point towards the other wing, not like the other ducks whose wings are flat to their back. Please let me know if I should take her to the vet! Thank you!

Your ducks are beautiful. Especially the blue runner that you’re concerned about. I used to have two blue runners., two of my favorite Ducks. But yes, about her wing. Have you tried holding her against your body with her back against your chest hold her body with one hand and use your other hand to unfold her wing out and look at the feathers perhaps you could do that and have someone take a picture.
I think because it’s not bothering her she’s probably fine and you know Ducks molt and grow new feathers and they might grow in straight next time.
But you never know with Ducks. They are very good at hiding their pain.
When she goes swimming, does she flap and splash in the water?
That would be a good sign

Thank you so much! They are really beautiful birds! I have not tried that but I will try today! I think she will not be too happy so I'll see if I can 😂 She does swim and flap her wings on the water! I don't want her to be in pain but I feel like she would not randomly flap her wings if she was in pain but I don't know. My other ducks are flat on their wings so I'm just not sure. I'll try getting a photo!

I had one of my Runners that wings overlapped like that, but when she molted they laid normally. She could have hit her wing on something when flapping it's hard to say but doesn't sound like it is bothering her. Any feather that looks abnormal like inflamed at the skin area? getting down into the feather like @Jenbirdee says would be good.

Unfortunately it got too dark and I couldnt make it out there to check so I put them away. I was able to pull her wing and feel and once the wing was out more it felt like the bump went away. I am going to check tomorrow since I get off early from work. Based on my initial inspection, the feathers all looked good and I tried moving them around to see where I felt the bump and nothing looked inflamed. I will let you know if there is something different I see in the daylight! Thank you for your support!

I attempted to open her wing today but she did not want me to. I tired with my other ducks as a test and I couldn't get it opened either 😂 good thing is it didn't look like she was being bothered by me touching it and moving her wing. I noticed they all have small at that location but one side of hers is just a bigger bump. Must be a normal part of a duck having the little bump but I will keep trying to inspect why it is larger on one side than her other and than all of the other ducks

Hello! It looks and feels the same. Just the larger bump on one side. I have not been able to open the wing forcefully but she constantly is running and flapping them. I was able to put my hand under to feel the bottom and top but I'm not too sure what im feeling. I feel the bump on both sides of all of the ducks but one side is just bigger on her. It must be a bone?
